Laguna Seca Recreation Area is the home of the annual Sea Otter
Classic MTB Festival and offers a large range of trails for beginners
and expert riders. Many trails to choose from ranging from easy to
hard.  To get there from Monterey take Salinas-Monterey Hwy. south
toward Salinas approximately 6 miles.  Watch for park signs and turn
left into main entrance.  Park is located halfway between Salinas and
Monterey.

Toro Regional Park is located halfway between Salinas and
Monterey, Toro Park offers some mountain-bike areas ranging from
easy to hard for both beginners and experts riders.  Make sure to
check what trails are available.  To get there from Monterey take
Salinas-Monterey Hwy. east toward Salinas approximately 9 miles.  
Exit onto Portola Road in Toro Park area.  

Old Coast Road is located in Big Sur off Highway 1, the 11 mile road
offers many challenges ranging from moderate to hard with some
severe uphill climbs.  To get there from Monterey take Hwy. 1 south
toward Big Sur.  Just before Bixby Bridge area turn left on Old Coast
Road.

Fort Ord (East Garrison) is an area that features mountain-bike trails
similar to Laguna Seca ranging from moderate to hard.  Riders can
connect to Laguna Seca.  Some areas are less maintained than
others.  To get there take Hwy 1 or Salinal-Monterey Hwy. exit into Del
Rey Oaks. Turn onto North-South Road and head north.  Accessible
areas include Watkins Gate and Eucalyptus Road.

Garland Regional Park has limited riding but offers a
a few trails ranging from easy to hard and elevation changes from 200
to 2,000 feet.  To get there from Monterey go south on Hwy1 and turn
left onto Carmel Valley Road and head east for approximately 9 miles.  
Watch for park signs.  Park is located off Carmel Valley Road.  Riding
trails near Cooper Ranch area.
